The 2026 Summer Reading List is now published! The offerings this year cover many different genres: fiction, non-fiction, graphic novel, memoir, and the list goes on. All students are required to read at least one book from the list.
In addition to a book off of the reading list, there is also form specific reading assignments. The required reading for rising III formers is Gather by Kenneth Cadow. The required reading for rising IV formers is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. The required reading for rising V formers is The Odyssey, translated by Emily Wilson (you must have the Emily Wilson translation).
For rising VI formers, you must read at least two of the Senior Exhibition texts. If you are a VI former taking Humanities rather than AS English 4, scroll down the page as your options for exhibition are slightly different.
There is a required summer math assignment from Mr. Tower, as well as optional enrichment opportunities from Modern Language, Classics, History, Religion & Philosophy, and Science.
Don't be afraid to explore alternative avenues in procuring your summer reads - your local library, the Irene duPont Digital Library, or your local bookshop.
